I keep wondering how much further these airhead liberals can go and they keep pushing it further. This country has become totally rudderless. Their actions are kneejerk. If they are not giving in to the muslims or taking away people’s self-defense weapons, they are pushing some kind of liberal nonsense such as this. This is what you get when you have no national character at all. Our country is flirting with this licentiousness. I hope and pray we can bring it to a halt before we are completely into moral relativism as is England.
Think our public indoctrination centers schools are getting worse? Read what is happening in Australia. His opening paragraph is a universal truth. I used to wonder why the left couldn’t understand the expression, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Then I realized that in their twisted mind it is broke. The schools don’t teach how to be a good liberal. They’re going hell bent on fixing that.
Please go to the ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice) site. You will see a link to a petition that is actually being used by them to press the Congress to pass a law to shut down efforts to enact stealth regulations on the broadcast industry. This is something that in the past has been ironically named the “Fairness Doctrine”. There is nothing “fair” about the Fairness Doctrine. It is a thinly veiled move by the left to shut down conservative talk radio as it was a few decades ago before it was repealed at that time. Rush didn’t just appear from nowhere. He came about as a result of the previous “Fairness Doctine” being repealed.
Discerning Texan has a good summation article on the whole subject including the boycott of AP and a discussion on the Fair Use doctrine. I can identify with his evolution as a blogger and his questions about drawing notice to his articles. He does a good enough job that he hooks me more times than not.
It’s a full-time job keeping up with the lefty attempts to shut down dissenting voices. They won’t stop either. I’m waiting for my first visit from the “Truth Police”. I’m thankful for sites such as DT.
Subject: Think about it…
The OPEC minister may look you in the eye and say,
“We are at war with you infidels and have been since
the embargo in the 1970s. You are so arrogant you
haven’t even recognized it. You have more missiles,
bombs, and technology; so we are fighting with the
best weapon we have and extracting on a net basis
about $700 billion/year out of your economy. We will
destroy you! Death to the infidels!
While I am here I would like to thank you for the
following: Not developing your 250-300 year supply of oil
shale and tar sands. we know if you did this, it
would create thousands of jobs for U.S. citizens,
expand your engineering capabilities, and keep the
wealth in the U.S. instead of sending it to us to
finance our war against you infidels.
Thanks for limiting defense dept. purchases of
oil sands from your neighbors to the north. We love
it when you confuse your allies.
Thanks for over regulating every segment of your
economy and thus delaying, by decades, the
development of alternate fuel technologies.
Thanks for limiting drilling off your coasts, in
Alaska, and anywhere there is an insect, bird, fish, or
plant that might be inconvenienced. Better that your
people suffer. Glad to see our lobbying efforts have
been so effective.
Corn based Ethanol. Praise Allah for this sham
program! Perhaps you will destroy yourself from the
inside with these types of policies. This is a gift
from Allah, praise his name! We never would have
thought of this one! This is better than when you
pay your farmers NOT TO GROW FOOD. Have them use
more energy to create less energy, and
simultaneously drive up food prices.
Thank you U.S. Congress!
And finally, we appreciate you letting us fleece
you without end. You will be glad to know we have
been accumulating shares in your banks, real estate,
and publicly held companies. We also finance a good
portion of your debt and now manipulate your
markets, currency, and economies for our benefit.
THANK YOU AMERICA!”
(and then, to top it all off, we blame the oil companies for the mess – JL)
(This is not original with me. I got it in an email with no citation. Whoever did it should be congratulated.)
I put the title in caps because I want you to imagine me yelling it at you. I know some of you have gotten your pantyhose in a wad about the oil companies and their supposed “gouging” of us consumers. I mentioned in another post a few days ago about the environmental groups and their phalanxes of lawyers and lobbyists in Washington. Here is another very good article at JunkScience.com. I have a news flash for those of you that are down on the oil companies supposed “windfall profits”. THE OIL COMPANIES WILL MAKE A PROFIT WHETHER THE PRICE OF OIL IS $50.00/BBL OR $150.00/BBL!
The name of the game is now and always has been – power. The enviros have been gathering it for years. Their first big conquest was over the Ozone hole (scam). They really began to flex their muscles after that. Then the endangered species act gave them a strong PR lever to pull whenever they wanted to tweak the publics guilt over a (possibly) disappearing species. The fear factor was employed to make people believe that if one species, such as the blind cave spider in central Texas was to disappear that it would be the start of a landslide that would doom all of society as we know it. And we bought into it. Partly because for years that propaganda has been fed to the school kids over and over and over. “We must not do anything to harm the environment” “The environment is holy” “Gaia must be worshipped”. Now all that the greenie-weenies have to do is say the magic phrase, “This is bad for the environment” and all their (now grown up) Manchurian Candidates nod their collective heads and say, “Oh yes, we must not do anything to harm the environment”.
Wake up, people. You’re being scammed again. The greenie-weenies love to hear you rail against the oil companies. They can take that to the bank. It takes the heat off of them. After all, they’re all mom and apple pie and the flag and doin’ it for the kids.
BTW, JunkScience is a good site to stay tuned in to. Steven Milloy has all kind of good stuff on there. He’s a big GW skeptic.
The NYT (surprise, surprise) has a worthwhile article on dealing with cellphone spam. I haven’t had any myself but, as they say in the article, it’s only a matter of time. After you see who is offering this service it’s not hard to see why Sprint is losing customers.
